OBJECT: Two contestants compete to make a word using the letters revealed on the game board.

GAME BOARD: The game board consists of ten boxes, each representing a subject category. Categories are used for the game’s quiz segment and letters of the alphabet for the game puzzle are hidden behind these categories.

In the Elimination Round, various dollar amounts are assigned to each category. The prize amount is revealed when the question related to the category is answered correctly. Dollar amounts range from $50 to $500. Behind one of the categories is the "Mind Breaker". The "Mind Breaker" will wipe out any cash that the player has accumulated in the jackpot, and the player must start over again with the remaining categories on the board.

RULES OF GAME:

  1. ELIMINATION ROUND- A group of players play individually in this round. The round begins with the player picking two categories off the board as "freebies", meaning that they receive the hidden letter behind those two freely selected categories without having to answer a question to earn the letter. Following the "freebies", the contestant must select a category, and correctly answer a question to earn the hidden letter. If the player ever incorrectly answers a question, the round is over, and he or she is eliminated from the game. If the question is answered correctly, the player is awarded a dollar amount that ranges from $50 to $500, plus the corresponding letter. The cash is put into a jackpot that begins at $500, and each dollar amount is added to that jackpot. If the "Mind Breaker" is revealed, the jackpot is wiped out, and the player must start over with a new jackpot that begins at $500, but gets to keep any letters accumulated. To collect the jackpot, the player must make a word of three letters or more (see WINNING WORDS) using only the letters earned in the round. The player who accumulates the highest jackpot in this round, wins the round, and proceeds to the "Head to Head Round".

  2. HEAD TO HEAD ROUND- The previous game champion, along with the player who scores highest in the ELIMINATION ROUND go "head to head" in this round. This is a best of three match. The two contestants, starting with the champion, picking a "Freebie" category on the board. Once the "freebies" are revealed, the players alternate, starting with the champion, choose a category to answer a question on the board. In order to earn the chance to reveal the hidden letter, the contestant must correctly answer a question based on the category chosen. If the question is answered correctly, the letter is shown. Should the player miss the question, the letter is not revealed, and the opponent proceeds to pick another category. The first player to make a word with three or more letters (See WINNING WORDS), wins the round. The opponent starts the second round. If a third and final round is played, the winner of the second round gets to go first. The first player to win two rounds wins an additional $1000, plus the chance to play our bonus game called MIND BREAKER.

  3. WINNING THE GAME- Once the letter has been revealed, the contestant has the opportunity to make a word with the letters on the puzzle board. When this is done, the player wins one game in a two-out-of-three match. The winner of the match continues to play new opponents as the champion, plus the chance to play the bonus game. If he/she cannot solve the puzzle, the game continues as usual.

  4. WINNING WORDS- All words used to win the game must be at least three letters in length. All letters used in the word must be revealed on the game board, but all letters revealed on the board necessarily have to be used. No initials, abbreviations, proper names, or profanities are permitted. All acceptable words must be listed in a dictionary of the host's choice. If an unacceptable word is given, the player automatically loses the game.

  5. TIE GAMES- In case two or more players in the "Elimination Round" tie scores, they will each be allowed to pick one category on the board, in a "Tie Breaker Round". The player must correctly answer a question to earn the dollar amount behind that category. The player who scores the highest dollar amount from that single question, wins the round, and proceeds to the "Head to Head Round".

In case neither "Head to Head" contestant can make a word after all ten letters have been revealed, the game is considered a tie. The players evenly divide the prize for the game. Once the tie has been reached, a new game is started and added to the best of three match.

  6. PRIZES- Since this is a "net game", and played only for fun, no REAL prizes are awarded. However, for scoring purposes, the winner of each game wins $500 in cybercash, for a total of $1000 in cybercash awarded to the champion of the match.

BONUS GAME:
IMPORTANT!!!! In order to play the bonus round, the champion must have access to one of these Instant Message services: AOL Instant Messenger or MSN Messenger.

  1. GAME BOARD- The game board basically remains the same; except the ten boxes are now numbered from 1-10. There is a letter in each box; except the one that contains the words "MIND BREAKER".

  2. GAME- The champion is given thirty seconds to call for numbers, one at a time. After the number is requested, the letter is revealed. If the "MIND BREAKER" is revealed, the board is cleared, and ten new numbers are set up as before, and the champion must start over with the time remaining on the clock.

  3. WINNING THE GAME- The game is won in the same manner as the main game. Once the champion has a word of three letters or more, he or she must say, "Stop the clock". Within five seconds of the host's prompt, the champion must say the word, and spell it. If the champion does this correctly, he or she is a winner. If time runs out before the champion can make a word, the game ends without a winner.

  4. PRIZE- Since this is a "net game", and played only for fun, no REAL prizes are awarded. However, for scoring purposes, the winner of the Bonus Game wins $10,000 in cybercash.
