Net Bullseye Game 10

<the ghost of jay stewart>
Welcome to the start of our second season of the internet game in which daring determines the fate of the player.....

This is the game of strategy, luck and knowledge...

This is (insert lightning) Net Bullseye!!

And here is our host, Tom Hornikel!
</the ghost of jay stewart>

Thank you Jay Stewart. Thank you friends, and welcome to the first regular game of our second season. For the past several weeks, we have been enjoying our first annual Tournament of Champions. Five players competed for a cyberprize of $100,000. It was a great game with some of the very brightest players to participate in this show. Of course, there was only one winner, and Mike Klauss came out on top.

Now, we begin our second season, and all of our players have the opportunity to "knock off" our king of the hill. If you would like to play along in Game Ten, and possibly take a shot at defeating our champ (Sorry, Mike! But Dan Enright would have wanted it this way!), just respond to this e-mail no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 7, 1999. Space is limited, so I must accept applications to play on a first come basis. If you don't know how to play, just go to my webpage. The address is at the bottom of this e-mail. Good luck everyone!

Here's hoping everything you do hits the

Net Bullseye Game 10 Round 1

<Ghost of Jay Stewart>
Here he is with the first scoreboard for our new
season, our host, Tom Hornikel!
</Ghost of Jay Stewart>

Thank you, Jay! It is becoming a habit for me to say that Mike Klauss is our current leader. In fact, it seems like Mike is becoming the Net Bullseye equivalent to Lt. Thom McKee. However, at the end of our first round, Mike's lead could easily be challenged by several players. Round Two should prove very interesting.

Let's take a look at the scores....

Gus Mahler $1200 4 out of 4 Love Connection@$300

Net Bullseye Game 10 Playoff

Welcome to our first PLAYOFF ROUND of the new season. We have some new rules that I hope you will enjoy, and here is Jay to introduce our playoff contenders...

<ghost of Jay Stewart> Tom, here is our returning champion, who has won over $150,000 on Net Bullseye. He is a tech geek at an ISP, and one lousy piano mover. Meet Mike Klauss!

Mike's challenger is a musician, composer, and soap opera magazine writer. He is Gus Mahler! <ghost of Jay Stewart>

Gentlemen, welcome to the new PLAYOFF ROUND. Instead of the individually played game that we play in rounds one and two, the Playoff Round will be much closer to the original Bullseye series.

We will start with the player with the higher score after the first two elimination rounds. That will be you, Mike. That player will have "control" of the first spin.
That player must contract for the spin. Once the contract is in play, it must be completed. If a player misses a question, control goes to his or her opponent, who must try to answer the missed question correctly in order to steal control. At the completion of each contract, the player who earned the contract is entitled to bank the winnings accumulated in the contract, or risk it. If the money is banked, control goes to the opponent. If it is not banked, the jackpot will grow, until the completion of the next contract. The first player to bank $2000 wins the game, and may go on to play the BONUS ISLAND bonus game.

Good luck to both of you fine players. Mike, the windows are spinning the information. Here is your first spin....

(Bvvvvvoo--shshshshunk!)

(*( LOVE CONNECTION for $350 )*)

(shshshshunk!)

(*( FOREIGN PHRASES for $100 )*)

and your contract is for ...

(shshshshunk!)

(*(*( BULLSEYE )*)*)

What a way to start the new rules! Please reply with your spin selection no later than 11:59p.m. EST on Monday September 27, 1999. Good luck!

Here's hoping everything you do hits the

Tom Hornikel: Gentlemen, welcome to the new PLAYOFF ROUND. Instead of the individually played game that we play in rounds one and two, the Playoff Round will be much closer to the original Bullseye series.

(*( LOVE CONNECTION for $350 )*)

(shshshshunk!)

(*( FOREIGN PHRASES for $100 )*)

and your contract is for ...

(shshshshunk!)

(*(*( BULLSEYE )*)*)

What a way to start the new rules!

Mike Klauss: <singing> All the world needs is love...sweet love...EXCEPT ME! Foreign phrases for $100, please.

Tom: Foreign Phrases for $100. Remember, with the Bullseye, you MUST let me know, with each answer if you wish to continue (risking your accumulated winnings in the contract), or to bank the contracted winnings. Since this is Playoff Round, I must hold you to that. Here is your first question. Bonne Chance!

(*( Quite often, you meet a person who has a "C'est la vie" attitude. What does "C'est la vie" mean?. )*)

Mike: It's what I would have said when the piano fell. "That's life", Tom.

Let's stop using the bullseye right now, keep the money in the pot, and spin the info again.

Tom: Tres bien! Here is your second spin of the round...

(Bvvvvvoo--shshshshunk!)

(*( FOREIGN PHRASES for $250 )*)

(shshshshunk!)

(*( 20TH CENTURY TRIVIA for $350 )*)

and your contract is for ...

(shshshshunk!)

(*( 4 QUESTIONS )*)

Mike: That's much better. Let's go for the 20th Century Trivia @ $350 per, please.

Tom: Mike, you are risking your $100 on this question...

(*( Who was elected president of Argentina in 1946? )*)

Mike: <singing yet again> Don't cry for me Argentina... <end singing>

That would be Peron!

Tom: Mike, you are no Kathy Lee, but you are correct! Here is your second question...

(*( In the 1980's, what manufacturing corporation was guaranteed over one billion dollars in government loan guarantees? )*)

Mike: I'll take a guess...Boeing? >>

<Frank>NO!<Frank>

Since Mike answered incorrectly, control goes to you,
Gus. >>>>>>>>>>>><DING>
In order to retain control of the contract, you must correctly answer the question.

Gus Mahler: yayayayay i think its chrysler???????????????????/

Im goign to shoot myself if its dow :)

Tom: Chrysler.

Mother Mopar.

Final answer?

It is a correct one.

Two down, two to go to complete the contract.....

(*( In 1958, three nations formed the United Arab States. Egypt and Yemin were two of those countries. What was the third? )*)

Gus: u know im very very confused.. but i THINK this is syria.. and i THOUGHT it was called united arab republic?

Tom: You are correct. And it is now known by that name. Three down, one to go to complete your contract....

(*( In 1955, what two powerful labor unions merged? )*)

Gus: i will try.. the AFL and the CIO?????????? :)

Tom: Frank? What do you think?

<frank>RIGHT!<frank>

Gus, you have completed your contract. The jackpot stands at $1500. Do you wish to bank that money, or take a stab at another spin, with the goal of $2000 looming closely?

Gus: <<SPIN!>>

Tom: Gus, you are risking your $1500 jackpot on this spin. Good luck...

(Bvvvvvoo--shshshshunk!)

(*( LOVE CONNECTION for $250 )*)

(shshshshunk!)

(*( ANIMAL CRACK-UPS for $100 )*)

and your contract is for ...

(shshshshunk!)

(*( 2 QUESTIONS )*)

Gus: ROCKIN!!! wooo hoo.. my dream spin..

i will take love connections please :)

Tom: Gee Gus, are you sure about your decision???? This is a contract that will add enough money to the jackpot for one of you to win the game. Good luck to both players, as Gus takes his first question....

(*( Reputed to be the greatest lover of all time, the name of this 18th century lover has become a part of our language in describing a lover. )*)

Gus: how about casanova? :)

Tom: No thanks, I already ate. Oh you mean the lover? You are correct, Gus. One more correct answer will complete the contract, add $500 to the jackpot, for a game winning total of $2000. Gus, for $4450 and the game, here is your question....

(*( Name the love of Emperor Napoleon's life. )*)

Gus: She had comet i think.
Wasn't she a plumber?????????????

ITS JOSEPHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>
